Sundeep Naran was only eight years old when he started working as a cashier in his family’s business.
Those were the days before electronic cash registers, which meant the young entrepreneur-in-the-making had only his natural arithmetic skills to help him do the job. His ability to work with numbers paved the way for a successful career in the financial services industry. Today, Sundeep is the Head of Financial Resources Management (FRM) at RMB.
Before joining RMB, Sundeep spent several years in the actuarial environment at the Employee Benefits division of Southern Life (at the time of the merger with Momentum). He then took a sabbatical to pursue his MBA at Wits Business School. It was during this time that he realised he was ready for a career change. The opportunity offered by RMB’s Class Of Programme to rotate through different divisions within the bank, became a big draw card. The rest as they say, is history.
Sundeep joined the RMB Corporate Finance team as Senior Transactor and was eventually promoted as Co-Head of RMB Leveraged Finance.
He is a Non-Executive Director of Primedia Holdings (Pty) Ltd, representing RMB’s shareholding in the company and sits on the RMB Management Board.
When he is not travelling with his family in his spare time, he is assisting RMB with resources allocation across the various activities to optimise the long-term value creation.
