BIOGRAPHY

Jon Cornfield has over 25 years of local and international financial markets experience and is currently an RMB executive serving as Co‑Chief Executive Officer of the Institutional Segment and Co‑Head of Global Markets. During his tenure with RMB, he has held senior executive roles including Head of Trading and Execution, overseeing Flow Trading, Cross‑Asset Financing and Trading, Business Resource Management, Structuring, and Electronic Execution across the Global Markets platform. He serves on multiple RMB and Group committees and plays a central role in shaping the Institutional and Global Markets strategy of the bank.

 Prior to joining RMB in 2017, Jon spent 16 years at Deutsche Bank, holding a number of senior leadership positions across developed and emerging markets. These included Global Head of Emerging Market Portfolio Risk Management, Head of South African Debt Trading, America’s Global Markets Head of Risk and Capital, US Head of Non‑Strategic Trading, and Head of US Front Office Capital and Risk Management. His career began in London, where he spent eight years before relocating to New York in 2009, and also included a period based in South Africa leading the SA FICC trading franchise.

 Jon’s experience spans multiple asset classes and disciplines, combining deep markets expertise with risk, capital management, and strategic execution. He is well regarded for his balanced, multidisciplinary leadership approach, with a strong focus on innovation, governance, and sustainable market practices in support of long‑term client and institutional growth. Jon holds a Bachelor of Business Science Honours degree from the University of Cape Town and is a CFA charter holder.
