RMB Wins Best Trade Finance Bank in Southern Africa

RMB has been named Best Trade Finance Bank in Southern Africa at the prestigious GTR Leaders in Trade Awards, held at the GTR Charity Awards Dinner on 26 June 2025. This marks RMB’s eighth consecutive win in this category – testament to our innovation, and client-centric approach in the Trade Finance space.

Over the past two years, our Trade Finance business has shown strong growth and has facilitated large volumes of trade finance for clients in Africa and beyond.

We have also grown our Supply Chain Finance (SCF) offering significantly, supporting hundreds of suppliers through digitally enabled programmes.

A large part of RMB’s success lies in its foundation of deep, long-term client relationships and a strong culture of innovation. By taking the time to truly understand each client’s business, RMB is able to deliver tailored, forward-thinking financial solutions that evolve as their needs grow. These relationships go beyond transactional engagements - they are strategic partnerships built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to long-term success.

Commenting on the award, Louis du Plessis, Head of Trade and Working Capital at RMB, said: "We are honoured to receive this recognition once again. It reflects the consistent effort of our teams, the strength of our partnerships, and our commitment to innovation and impact. We remain focused on enabling seamless trade across Africa by delivering world-class solutions for our clients."
