RMB recognised for landmark transactions and advisory leadership at the 2025 DealMakers Awards

RMB’s Corporate Finance franchise secured multiple nominations and awards at the Ansarada DealMakers SA Annual Gala Awards that took place on 19 February 2026, underscoring a year defined by transformational transactions, market‑shaping corporate activity and outstanding advisory leadership.

RMB is proud to have once again won M&A investment Adviser of the Year (by value and volume) - with regards to value, a third consecutive win and 12th in total.  RMB also took top honours for Sponsors by deal value including recognition for its role as sponsor on the Deal of the year for supporting Anglo American on the demerger of Valterra Platinum. These wins, together with the nominations across multiple categories, are testament to RMB’s role at the centre of some of South Africa’s most significant corporate transactions in 2025, reinforcing its position as a leading adviser across M&A, private equity and sponsor services.

“This recognition from DealMakers reflects the strength, depth and discipline of our Corporate Finance franchise. It speaks to the trust our clients place in us and the quality of execution our teams bring to complex, high‑impact transactions,” says Krishna Nagar, Head of Corporate Finance at RMB.

RMB was also nominated for its role as adviser on Aspen Pharmacare’s R26.5 billion disposal of its Asia‑Pacific assets (excluding China) to BGH Capital. One of the largest healthcare transactions in recent years, the deal will unlock significant shareholder value, materially strengthen Aspen’s balance sheet and sharpen its strategic focus on priority growth areas. The transaction reflects RMB’s strength in executing complex, high‑value, cross‑border mandates and advising clients through pivotal strategic milestones.

RMB also featured in the nominations for Private Equity Deal of the Year category for advising on the R5.78 billion share‑for‑share transaction that will see Capitalworks and other shareholders exit RFG Holdings to Premier Group.

Matt Eb, an executive in the RMB Corporate Finance team, was nominated for the Individual Dealmaker of the Year. Matt has played a leading role across the Healthcare & Services and Consumer, Food & Agri advisory teams, originating and executing several high‑profile mandates during 2025. His nomination reflects both individual advisory excellence and RMB’s depth of senior talent across key sectors.

“From landmark public M&A to private equity exits and sponsor advisory, our focus remains on delivering thoughtful, solution‑driven advice that creates real value. We are proud of our people, grateful to our clients for their continued partnership, and honoured to be recognised alongside them at the DealMakers Awards,” Nagar concludes.
