Judy Kobus

Judy joined the FirstRand group in 2002, initially working at Momentum (which was then part of the group) as Head of Operations for its distribution services division. She moved to FirstRand, where she served as executive assistant to Paul Harris and Sizwe Nxasana from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, she joined RMB as part of the Class Of programme where she worked as a credit analyst and then transactor in the Africa team. She left the Class Of programme in 2009 when joined Infrastructure Sector Solutions (IFS) as a transactor.
She went on to lead the IFS team for six years, during which the business doubled its PBT across South Africa and broader Africa, shifted from a solutions business to a sector- and client-led business, and established itself as a leader in emerging sectors such as private power, electricity traders, HoldCo facilities and equity and quasi-equity gearings. Under her leadership, the team also developed key financing products that are now established in the South African infrastructure sector.
Judy holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems, an Honours in Commerce, as well as a Master of Commerce in Business Management, which she completed with distinction.
