As the Head of RMB’s Institutional Client Group, Hendrik develops and executes strategic change in a complex and globally competitive environment – using his extensive knowledge across strategy, structuring, management and finance.
Hendrik’s career at RMB began in 2014, when he moved from Deutsche Bank to a role in Investment Banking. Prior to his time at Deutsche Bank, he was with Investec in the Sales and Structuring space. Shortly after joining RMB, he was promoted to the Head of Client Strategy for Global Markets, and in 2017 to Co-head of RMB’s Structuring and Distribution business. During this time, he also lead the Global Securities Service business. In 2020, he was appointed Head of Invest and in 2022, Head of RMB’s Institutional Client Group.

He is a CA (SA) and has an MCom in International Accounting (UJ); an MCom in International Taxation (Wits); and an MBA (Gordon Institute of Business Science). He has completed the CQF certification and is currently studying towards a PhD at EDHEC University in France.
As the Head of Institutional Client Group at RMB, Hendrik’s mandate is to act as custodian of the group’s institutional client set. He enjoys the challenge of a technically demanding client set, working with clients to address challenges and opportunities coming from all angles – market conditions, regulation, and technical innovation. Apart from exploring opportunities in the ESG and digital-asset spaces, a strong focus remains on remaining a trusted, reliable infrastructure partner for clients to access financial-market and payment ecosystems.
Hendrik is drawn to spaces where one can find solutions to challenges. “RMB creates an enabling and encouraging environment that both enables and encourages one to find answers to our clients’ questions to do business better.”
"Create as many opportunities for yourself as you can."
