RMB has brightened up prospects for emerging BEE energy providers to bid competitively in the renewable energy sector.
Businesses previously struggled to secure their role in the government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement (REIPPP) Programme due to a lack of financial support.
RMB stepped in by deploying close to R1-bn to five BEE shareholding groups. Each transaction was structured on the back of nine underlining projects.
Through this funding, RMB not only empowered energy enterprises, but also fast-tracked the transformation of the energy sector.
