Andrew served as the CEO of RMB Ventures from 2017 until December 2025 and served on the RMB FRM Committee, RMB C&I Exco and RMB Investment Committee. Andrew continues as a member of the RMB Investment Committee.

Andrew graduated from UCT in 1996 with a BCom and Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA)(SA) and a CFA Charter holder. Before joining RMB, he spent two years overseas, working in Zurich and London. He also spent considerable time travelling in the US and South America.

Andrew joined RMB in 2001. He spent five years focusing on the South African, US, UK and European leveraged finance markets. He started the bank’s European Mezzanine business in 2005.

He ventured into private equity in 2006 when he joined RMB Ventures as private equity transactor. He has been involved in the origination and exit of a number of number of transactions including Life Healthcare, Tracker, MCG Group, African Maritime Solutions, Bluff Meat Supply and Kamoso Distribution.

He is a member of the FNB Mezzanine Committee and the RMB Investment Committee and represents RMB Ventures as a Board member on four portfolio companies.

In his spare time, he spends as much time as he can with his wife, two children and three dogs. His key passion is flying light aircraft and he holds a commercial pilot’s licence. He also loves playing golf, trail running and spending time in the bush.
