BydonLongwe

Bydon is a seasoned banking and finance executive with over 27 years’ experience spanning auditing, accounting, finance, and banking. He has a strong track record in leading large, complex organisations, driving strategy development and execution, and spearheading business transformation initiatives.

 

He is the Chief Executive Officer of FirstRand Broader Africa, responsible for overseeing the operations of FNB and RMB across eight African countries. He provides strategic leadership and supports in-country CEOs to deliver against the Group’s Broader Africa strategy, ensuring performance alignment, business growth, and value creation across diverse markets.

Bydon is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA). He also holds a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration. He brings a wealth of experience gained in diverse regulatory environments, customer landscapes, and corporate governance practices in Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia.

He is deeply passionate about people development, customer experience, and making a positive societal impact. Bydon believes in building strong, empowered teams and nurturing talent to its fullest potential. His leadership philosophy is grounded in the idea that successful organisations are not only performance-driven, but also customer-centric and community-minded.
