Principal Investments Services

Our principal investments business makes long-term investments in companies, typically for three to five years. Our investment strategy focuses on special situations, in particular companies requiring operational and financial restructuring.

We invest in whichever part of the capital structure is most appropriate for the opportunity and have the flexibility to invest in both the private and public markets. While our focus is on South Africa, we also look at Sub-Saharan Africa opportunities.

We also take principal equity positions in property investments and developments (including land accumulation), often in joint venture arrangements.

Our strategy is complementary to RMB's equity trading and traditional buy-out activities.
