Collaborating for a brighter future

Thinking. Pulling. Together. speaks to what individuals in collaboration can accomplish. It is a call to all of us, from friends, families and organisations, to our country and continent. By working together, we can create the South Africa we all aspire to.

The intangible magic of music binds us with its spell and while we listen, it makes us believe that life is good and the future is promising. Successful nation-building efforts require a component of these intangible elements: spirit, soul, rhythm, magic, goodwill, and energy.

Call them what you will, they are essential ingredients for the melting pot of a great and truly diverse country, working together in harmony.

The Mzansi Youth Choir

The Mzansi (‘south’ in isiZulu) Youth Choir was established in July 2003 to afford talented, underprivileged teenagers and young adults, the opportunity to proficiently perform with song and dance locally and abroad. The choir consists of 45 choristers from Soweto and areas in and around Johannesburg.

The word Mzansi means south in isiZulu and is also the township slang word for South Africa. The choir’s repertoire is an exciting assortment of South African music which incorporates elements of traditional music, pop and jazz.

RMB has been a proud sponsor of the creative arts and of the Mzansi Youth Choir since its inception. At RMB our drive to make a real and sustainable difference across society and the communities in which we live and operate, is enabled by creating access to the arts.
A good team, like a choir, comes into being when the separate voices work together to create a masterpiece which is better than any voice can ever be on its own.
At RMB we believe in the exponential value of teamwork, collaboration and shared goals.
